How to Prevent Cyber Stalking and Online Harassment
Published on March 05, 2024 • 5 min read
The internet has made the world smaller, but it has also given anonymity to harassers and stalkers. Protecting your digital privacy is crucial.
1. Lock Down Your Social Media
Ensure your Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter profiles are set to 'Private'. Audit your friend lists and remove anyone you don't know personally.
2. Avoid Sharing Real-Time Locations
Posting photos with geo-tags or "Checking In" to locations in real-time can help a stalker track your movements. Post updates after you have left the location.
3. Use Strong, Unique Passwords
A compromised email or social media account can give a stalker access to your private conversations and photos. Use Two-Factor Authentication (2FA) wherever possible.
